I understand the couple's frustration when their Cancun or Riviera Maya destination wedding had postponed or cancel due to the COVID-19 pandemic, what a bummer. This awful pandemic changed the entire world and of course, destination weddings are not excluded. Thousand of events were canceled in the Cancun, Riviera Maya, and Playa del Carmen, and couples and vendors were devastated economical, and emotionally taken a very hard toll on everybody.
Now the good part, in my modest opinion (and hope), this unprecedented virus will be getting weak month after month thanks to global immunity and the new vaccines coming out soon. The edge or advantage of destination wedding celebrated in the Riviera Maya over a regular wedding event in the USA for example is the setting, even do you can do a similar setting (outdoor wedding) at your own city some limitations are always causing problems like the weather, for example, you can not do an outside wedding on November in Chicago, but you can on Cancun. Open-air venues, beach ceremonies, outdoor parties, all these factors reduce the risk of contagion significantly. I know, just bear with me, will not be the same as before (at least for months) but if the wedding is very well planned in advance I think everything would be just fine and the celebration will be successful, we must stay 100% positive, take all the possible precautions, and be safe, we will get out of this like any storm it always has an ending.
